This is Just Us. They are an indie/folk duo from Asbury Park, New Jersey. This is their debut album. They have been dating since November of 2010. Working on this record ever since. Recording it in various rooms throughout their house. Next to a burning fireplace, where they met, where they shared their first kiss. It is all tied together in this beautiful cohesive and relatable folk record. If you truly want to feel the up and downs of being in love, sit down, put on some headphones and listen.

FREE FOLK EP

thisnoiseismusic:

A cute little indie-folk duo from Asbury Park released their EP recently. It’s totally free and such. Nothing better than free amazing music. It’s perfect Fall to Winter kind of music. Simple guitar that sort-of drowns out the vocals but in a very balanced way makes this album a great one to sit down and have a cup of tea to. Enjoy~

^ Free EP. Go Get It ^

Hey friend, we just saw this. Thanks so much for the positive review, sorry we just caught this. I’m tumblr lame, and I think it’s my job to check it.

New album comes out on April 17th! Listen to this EP and get excited about it!

House tours.

I’m convinced that this is how folk and acoustic acts are going to tour. You find a host, they empty their living room / basement / whatever. The tickets are sold via email and none at the door. So 50 - 100 kids cram into a basement / backyard for $10 a piece to see their favorite acoustic / folk act play. The artist gets $8 for every ticket, and the host gets $2. I would pay $10 to see Bright Eyes play, or Owen, or even The Scene Aesthetic. I think it makes for a much more intimate experience. Almost like you’re hanging out with one of your favorite artists, and they just happen to be in the mood to play music. I mean think about it. What do kids do at shows? Break things, yell, scream, and cause Chaos. Nobody at an Never Shout Never show has ever done anything but swayed side to side and enjoyed the sow. Easy business.

Sweet idea. We will tour this way and only this way.

Records/Vinyl

Does anybody still go to record stores, or listen to old records? It’s not an elitist statement I’m making. I’m not accusing anyone of waiting 3 days in line for the new MGMT album at the local Hot Topic. I’m just curious as to what extent are records still genuinely used? You don’t see Justin Bieber vinyls hanging around. I think it’s more of an image thing. People who want to live in that time period, or enjoy that sense of style buy records as some sort of statement or act to hole over the heads of ‘casual’ music fans who just have an MP3 version of the latest Portugal. The Man album.

Go check out your local record store. See if you even have one really. Here are some rad ones that I’ve personally been to.

Thinking about getting a few of the new CD’s pressed on vinyl. Such a dying breed.

(Also, before you sit and try to justify yourself by owning a ton of ‘She & Him’ records because the ‘music just sounds better’. Remember how inconvenient vinyl really is. Not everyone has the time to sit and listen to a vinyl and instead uses a CD/iPod/Zune(No, they don’t.), or just in the background on their computer. So one is not better than the other.) Check out the links, order something, if you order from Asbury Park, that’s one of the best dudes around.
